At age 29, Morgan won a seat in the Utah House of Representatives. He served 2 terms and earned the reputation of being one of the House’s most conservative members. He also served as the Vice-Chairman of the Utah Republican Party.
In 2010 Morgan secured the Republican nomination and ran against 10-year Democrat incumbent, Jim Matheson. He went into this race even though Matheson had an 87% approval rating–highest of any Utah politician. It ended in a Matheson win, but by a very narrow margin.
Morgan ran against Governor Herbert in 2012, but Governor Herbert secured the Republican nomination at the Republican Convention.
Successful businessman, Leonard Joe Fabiano (known lovingly as “Uncle Joe” to many), is financially backing Morgan in this new venture.
