NOTES FROM THE WEBER COUNTY CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEETING JANUARY 12, 2006 -- - WEBER STATE UNIVERSITY WILDCAT THEATER
After the obligatory arguing the standard one hour about the agenda the meeting finally got under way. There was houskeeping by-law changes proposed to bring the bylaws into compliance with the election of State delegates in Precinct meetings. After some wrangling it was decided that the members needed more thorough information on the proposed
changes to be provided prior to the meeting. The bylaw housekeeping amendments were not adopted however, the practice of electing State delegates in the precinct meetings will continue.
The primary purpose of the meeting was training on how to access and use the State Republican Party on-line web site for the Precinct Caucus meetings on March 21st and general training on holding a caucus meeting.
County Chair Matt Bell provided information regarding the responsibilities of Precinct Chairs, Vice-Chairs, County and State Delegates.
Count Vice-Chair Jan Zogmaister provided information detailing the instructions in the Precinct Caucus Instruction booklet.
The web-site training was provided by the State Party and was outstanding, the new system will require all precinct chairs to log onto the party site for information and documentation for caucus meetings.
